Caller ID Configuration
| Field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Default Caller IDs | Select one or more phone numbers from your account's DID numbers. These numbers are displayed as the Caller ID for all outbound calls by default. |
| Caller ID by Destination Country | Toggle this switch to enable country-specific Caller IDs. When enabled, calls to a particular country will use the Caller ID assigned to that country instead of the default. |
Caller IDs set by country take priority over the default Caller ID. If no country-specific Caller ID is configured for a destination, the default Caller ID is used.
Caller ID by Destination Country
When the Caller ID by Destination Country toggle is enabled, an additional section appears where you can map countries to specific Caller IDs.
| Field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Destination Country | Select the country you want to assign a specific Caller ID to. Each country can only be assigned once. |
| Caller ID | Choose one or more DID numbers from your account to use as the Caller ID when calling that country. |
To add a country-specific Caller ID:
- Enable the Caller ID by Destination Country toggle.
- Select a Destination Country from the dropdown.
- Choose the Caller ID number(s) to display when calling that country.
- Click the + button to add more country mappings.
- Click Save to apply changes.
To remove a mapping, click the trash icon next to the entry. If only one entry exists, clicking the trash icon resets the fields.
Disabling the Caller ID by Destination Country toggle clears all country mappings.
Common Use Cases
Improving international answer rates -- Assign local Caller IDs for countries you frequently call. Recipients are more likely to answer calls from familiar local numbers.
Multi-region sales teams -- Set default Caller IDs for your main office number, then override with local numbers for key markets like the US, UK, or Germany.
Compliance with local regulations -- Some countries require outbound calls to display a local or registered number. Use country-specific Caller IDs to meet these requirements.
